CONGRATULATIONS!
The Glenorchy Rowing Club would like to congratulate Shaun Finlayson on being selected to represent Tasmania and indeed Australia at the Sydney Youth Olympic Festival. Shaun has also been selected as part of the TIS Target Squad which will be travelling to New Zealand in 2001.

The Glenorchy Rowing Club is situated on the banks of  the  Derwent River in Glenorchy, Tasmania We are a small club that has included a number of State and National Champions amongst it's members in recent years. A brief History of the club has been compiled on this site.

We currently have a fleet of boats that includes Single, Double and Quad sculls along with Sweep Fours and Eights whilst our Clubrooms offer facilities for weight and fitness  training, with showers available, and  it  is also available for meetings and social gatherings.

Glenorchy Rowing Club is always looking for new members, and if you are interested in rowing competitively for either the Club or for your School we can accommodate you.
But we are not only about rowing competitively. We are also only too happy to sign you on as a social member. Social members have access to our equipment and pay a lower fee.
As a part of our recruiting program, we offer an Adult Education program which is held under guidance of TAFE Tasmania. The next course is to be held next year and more information will be available as a date is set and we get closer to that date.
If you are wanting to try your hand at the sport, contact us via email, and a time can be arranged. You do not have to pay to have a go!

We have added a Season 2000 page. This page will contain a summary of each regatta we attend throughought the season. Please check back here regularly to see how the club is progressing.
